- Check your go kits
- Unpack it completely
- Check to make sure you clothes fit
- Swap out winter for summer gear
- Verify the health of your medicines
- Throw out that moldy sandwich (ew)
- Repack it completely
- Add in new supplies
- Make sure you have all the tools
- Check for meds, sunscreen, hat
- Ensure you have a copy of your manuals and a modern version of the Quick Reference card and frequency lists
- Charge your batteries
- Review your personal and family emergency plan
- Replenish foods and rotate dated items
- Check your contact lists, locations, and routes
- Ensure you medical, insurance, and other paperwork are current and updated, a copy is stored off-site in a secure location
- Communicate it to your family/friends
- For those with home stations
- Check your antenna, feed lines, and guy wires
- Check for loose or frayed connections around your radios, grounding wires, antenna coax, and power
- Take a moment to clean up your shack and make it useable
- Consider adding a digital component
- Send a radiogram to David via the NVTN (Nightly at 1930 on 147.300)
